Week 20 - The Big Secret
Alright, well it was going to be a big secret, Sharon and I were not going to tell the world anything about what we were having. But after finding out we couldn't help ourselves and decided to tell every one, and this is how the story goes...
Once again we headed off to Woden Hospital, and then went in for our Ultrasound, at this point we said, "Yes, we would like to know the sex please!"...and the ultrasound progressed. "Congratulations you are having a girl!"... Was I destined to have all girls in the family, outnumbered by Sharon, Kaitlyn and two more? No more Playstation, no more computer and geek talk, Just talk of Ponies and all things Sugar and Spice...
You know the jingle, Girls are made of Sugar and Spice and all things nice, Boys are made of dirt and bits of rubbish...Isn't that how it goes???
Just in case you really wanted to know how the poem goes....
What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails
That's what little boys are made of!
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice and all things nice
That's what little girls are made of!
Apparently several interpretations have been suggested but the one with the most credibility is that the original words were in fact 'snips of snails' - the origin of snips meaning 'little bits of'... "Little bits of Snails" - I guess by todays standards thats not so bad as what it could have been!
But I digress...The ultrasound continued and the lady then said "...and the other one is a Boy!" One of each on the way, a little brother and sister for Kaitlyn.
Sharon and I would have been happy either way, but it is a bonus to have one of each.
