Out and About
10 Jan 2013

The 2012 year was quite a busy one!

The Twins completed Kindergarten at big school.

Kaitlyn has done really well in Year 3, with her spelling and reading coming a very long way. She has read more harry potter books than I have seen movies.

Sharon had working all year, for 2 Specialists in Deakin. She even took on a lot of the Office Manager Duties and helped get their business off the ground. She also trained many staff and kept the place running for the year, it was an exciting and stressful time for her - But a Job very well done and a break at the end of the year very well deserved....Juggling Work and Family Commitments is a very difficult thing to do! All are on holidays at the moment, enjoying the break - but will be back into the homework shortly.

This Year Kaitlyn turned 9 as well and received her first big bike, with gears and no backward spin breaking...she had to get used to it, but did it very quickly! The twins, Bryce and Morgan turned 6 and were very lucky to get a 3DS to keep them arguing/occupied.

Some Images Below: Bryce with our pet bird "Yoshi"; The Kids having a heap of fun from reflections on a Shower Handle...They were cracking up for hours over their faces; Harley and Buffy Falling in Love; The kids at the end of year fete at school, going on the different rides; The Teapot, Cha Cha, Jumping Castle...lots of FUN!

Sharon and I had our 12 year Wedding Anniversary, and it also was our 20 years of being together.
We managed to disappear for a couple of days with the kids to Darling Harbour and spend time doing things we don't normally do.
A trip to the Aquarium, Centrepoint Tower, Eating Out in the Harbour, A trip by boat to Circular Quay, courtesy of Steve (Robo) Robinson on the whale watching boat....Lots of cries from the kids "Go Faster!!"; A trip back on the Sydney Ferries, and on the way out a stop in at IKEA...for the kids of course!

Then Christmas and New Year rolled around and the New Bikes arrived for Bryce and Morgan.

For so long Morgan had received old or broken bikes to use. She was so excited to be able to ride her new bike out on the road. Being a little bit bigger than the other ones, we had to put the training wheels back on for confidence.
Bryce has had a few stacks but he is learning and getting better at it.

Over the Christmas Period, we made it to Batehaven for a week, and spent it visiting friends and family, having BBQ's, Eating Out, Beach Visits, time in the pool. It was a really nice break!

Relaxing...Just the way a holiday should be.

A while ago I was very fortunate enough to get a DSLR - An Olympus E500 Digital Camera, handed down to me.
It’s a few years old now, but it is still an excellent camera for me to tinker around with.

I also picked up a Macro Lens for it, a 105mm Sigma Lens From the states, hard to come by but a really good find. So From time to time, I'll take not only the family photos, but also experiment with some other types of images.

Below are some images, one of a heavy frost on the car, and the rest, some of the light shows that we get in Murrumbateman.

The Storms in Murrumbateman can be really impressive across the ranges. I took about 1300 photos and ended up with some decent photos out of it. The next time I shoot storms though, I'll try keeping the shutter open for longer, it appears to be a preferred method for lightning photography. Probably a faster ISO setting as well, might remove some of the grain from the photos, but I thought it was an alright first try....until next time!
