This was a great experience!! After training and working on Choreography for a few years there is always
the hope that one day you will work with some of the people that are doing it on the big screen...and finally
I got a great chance to work with Australias leading Stuntman - Marky Lee Campbell.
With an impressive list of films behind him Mark has been involved in many
different film projects in Australia and overseas, using his various skills in stunt driving, action and Martial Arts films
- Now I know why he is such a popular man!
Leading up to the filming sessions Mark and I would meet and train together, working on the choreography and our dialogue
and before we knew it, it was the first day of filming.
On set, in between rainy periods Mark and I would come out and fight, do some dialogue and then fight again. With Mark doing some very
imprerssive falls onto the concrete, I too took some falls but, I don't think they were as impressive as Marky's.
With the the majority of Fighting and Falling out of the way, It was nice to kick back and relax and chat to Mark about his
projects and experiences. In a lot of ways, it has helped me to focus on different ways of training and things that I
personally want to get better at.
Nothing was too much trouble for Mark and he was always willing to help and offer his advice, Thanks Heaps Mark! I hope to
work with you again really soon!
Acting with the very talented Lara. Lara has been involved in acting for a long time, and a lot of her
expressions and reactions were, from my point of view perfect.
Working with Lara was fun, she has a fun and quirky personality and I wish her all the best for her upcoming life adventures.
The week long filming session was coming to a close with three days to go, but it didn't mean that there was no more action to come!
Long time friend Harley Durst, made a trip from Melbourne to be part of the action, bringing with him some buddies -
Chippa, Brendan Guerin and Ian Streetley.
After a fight scene with Ian, and the rest of our crew, the night came upon us and it was time for Harley, Dave and Chippa to do some running...
Alright maybe it was more running for me, Harley and Chippa showed of some of their crazy Parkore Stuff, and I was very impressed!
The action captured on three cameras, one mounted on a crane to get the aerial view. Far out Guys some of those Jumps were huge - and no mats to land on - Wow!
This all leads to a fight in an alleyway between myself against Harley and Brendan. Which all seemed to go pretty well...
After this was filmed it was time to film the final parts of the chase between Harley, Dave and Chippa - and another big Jump to finish off!!
Even though this short captures a lot of stunts and action, which was all great fun doing! It was also great to work with a fun crew, who in between could joke and laugh, making the time on set
more enjoyable. It was also great to have the other guys and gals come out and support and watch as each of the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle was filmed, to create the final picture.
A big thanks to all the cast and crew, and especially those who came out and helped when they could have stayed home cuddled up in bed (not together of course), you guys know who you are!
